Status: approved Member: Connectrajesh Type: Meetup Estimated size: 60 Info URL: https://www.eventbrite.com/edit?eid=43380542370 Fee: 10 Rooms: Large Event Room Details: Who Are You (Really) Designing For? An Introduction to Stakeholder-Centered Design In this session, I introduce participants to the concept of stakeholder-centered design, a process for identifying and designing for each stakeholder in the ecosystem and lifecycle of a product or service. I will begin by recapping the design process at a high level and then zoom into where this particular concept is useful, explore the details of how to practice it, and share the tools I use to apply stakeholder-centered design. Participants will leave with new tools to better understand their stakeholders and initial maps and plans of how to design for them. The session will be a mix of theory, story, and practice - participants will learn new ways to think about their stakeholders, hear some case studies, and get their hands dirty working through exercises where they can apply the framework to their work. SPEAKER BIO Taylor Cone is an innovation consultant, facilitator, and coach. He is a Senior Partner at SMALLIFY, a rapid innovation firm that works across sectors and industries including corporate, start-up, non-profit, and government. In his time with SMALLIFY, Taylor has worked with clients including PBS, Bleacher Report, the City of San Francisco, and ChildFund International on challenges ranging from culture-building to new product development to business strategy. Taylor is a former Lecturer at the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford (the d.school), where he co-taught Design Thinking Bootcamp and Design for Extreme Affordability. Taylor’s international design and innovation work has taken him to places like Cambodia, Ghana, India, South Africa, and Panama. Since 2010, Taylor has also been a whitewater rafting guide for ARTA River Trips, and makes it to the river whenever he can.
