At IREC 2017, they took first place in the 30,000 foot category, reaching almost exactly that altitude and 1.8 times the speed of sound, while hosting a novel telemetry system. Members of the team will talk about their rocket, Heart of Steel, and their experience leading up t o IREC and the event itself, as well as their eventual goal of the Karman Line, 100 km above the Earth.
